I was really apprehensive about exercise following complicated spinal surgery but Ed put me at ease straight away. He is very knowledgable and has created individual programmes to build my strength and increase my activity levels. In addition, he gives me diet and nutritional advice which is helping me on my journey. I genuinely look forward to seeing him and have actually started enjoying exercising!
The man behind Tempo Fitness
After completing my BSc in Sports Therapy at the University of Edge Hill I had a year off from the sports and fitness industry, this is due to the intense nature of the degree I did. During this year I worked in a busy Estate Agents office in Stratford-upon-Avon, During this time I realized my passion for fitness and helping people. So I enrolled on a personal training course and learnt all I could and I’m continuing to learn about nutrition, the human body and training methods today.

After completing the course I took a job at Walton Hall Leisure club. After a few months here I become the lead trainer and had the largest client base at the club. This lead me to being too busy to work for Walton Hall which lead to me becoming self employed and working with my clients at their homes or at a Health Works Fitness Studio in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The Lady behind the Nutrition
Alice Benskin graduated in 2013 with a BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Science. Her dissertation was obesity focused, and explored effects of obesity on type II diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and Cardiovascular development. She is currently studying an MSc in Personalised Nutrition, exploring effects of obesity and inflammation on the development of chronic diseases, and personalisation of scientific, evidence-based nutritional strategies and interventions to meet individual requirements.
“It was about eleven years ago, when I was thirteen. My youngest brother, who has unfortunately had many health challenges, went to see a nutritional therapist. She suggested some dietary changes, and I excitedly got on board. Soon after I read a wonderful book called “The Maker’s Diet” by Jordan S. Rubin. Jordan was chronically ill with IBD, but was able to regain his health through nutrition. This knowledge of nutrition proved useful, both in supporting my brother and also my dad, who has type II diabetes.”

Alice is Ed’s Sister in Law and they will be working closely on certain aspects which require Alice’s expertise.

I have a problem with my arm. I cut some trees down about 9 weeks ago and ever since my arm hurts.
So I booked a session with Ed. Ed patiently got me to explain how my arm felt and very quickly correctly identified the problem, he did some exercises and gave me some great input. Now I know how to treat this and it is already improving. I recommend Ed to all my friends who have aches, injuries and issues that need sports therapy.
