How many of you take time out of your day for yourself? I bet not many of you do it on a regular basis.


In today’s world, it is so easy to not switch off from your normal day to day life. We have work emails on our phone and have social media notifications going off every 5 minutes from Mr Smith asking for the latest recommendation about where to have his Sunday roast on the Stratford-upon-Avon Facebook forum page. By the way, how annoying are those people who are asking for consistent recommendations? Why can’t they go and find out for themselves? But that is a different rant!


My point is that it is so easy to stay ‘busy’ in what you perceive as your normal day-to-day life and not take 30 minutes for yourself.


In some cases, you can’t do this due to your children etc. Which is understandable but you can take 30 minutes for yourself every other day or every couple of days.


However, I would urge you to take 30 minutes for yourself wherever possible to clear your head. There is a saying going around at the moment which follows as.


“Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel”.


Which all it basically means is you cannot help others when you mental and physically exhausted. Take as little as 30 minutes for yourself first so you can give the best to others.
