Some people do it a lot and then stop for several reasons.
Some people struggle.

Running seems like it should be easy, but it’s not.

You cannot jump into running; you have to earn the right to progress.

When you jump into running, you can run into a few problems.
Injuries
Aches
Disappointment

When you jump into running, you start to get a few niggles. This is due to either having poor running shoes, poor mechanics.

Poor mechanics can come in the form of stride lengths, ankle rolls etc.

When you’re running, you need to be mindful of your stride length. Overstriding can lead to excessive strain on your calf which thus leads to injury. Along with this, you need to make sure when your foot lands. It’s stiff and stable when land and push off.

To overcome these potential issues, and to help you learn proper mechanics, it would be good to follow a specific and simple running program.

This can come in the form of running for 1 minute, then walking for a 1 minute then repeating this for 15 minutes. Then gradually increase the time length or increase running time and reduce the rest time.
