Social media is incredibly powerful, motivational and inspirational, but it can also have a very negative effect on us.

It’s great in the sense that it allows us to keep up to date with certain people, and follow interesting pages.

However, it can lead to an unhealthy relationship with social media and how you expect your life to go. You only see these peoples high lights of there life and not how there life really is.

You start to compare your life to theirs and that is not healthy for your own mental wellbeing. You also start spending ages scrolling through your news feeds and not being present in your actual life and spending any quality time with your friends or family. So you end up missing out on certain moments and conversations.

My Advice would be to cleanse your social media feeds.

  • Reduce the people you follow to those ones that actually bring joy and interest to your life.
  • Reduce the total amount of screen time.
  • Regularly cleanse the people you follow to make sure they bring happiness to you.
  • Remember that what you’re seeing on social media is just peoples highlights and bearly ever there low points.

Now my challenge to you is for you to cleanse the people that you follow and reduce them down to the ones that add purpose and value to your life. Once you have done this now aim to reduce your total screen time!
